I never take for granted the opportunity to experience another holiday season. The traditions are comforting and familiar, but each one takes on a newness that makes me appreciate what has come before and what is yet to be. Every year I am humbled and reminded that I have received the most amazing gift of all, and I am grateful that I have this time to celebrate what is truly important. Wishing you a beautiful holiday season as we enter the month of December... laughter, love, joy, and good health to everyone.

November was here. How did I miss it? :) Seems like time has been in accelerated mode lately. We enjoyed our Thanksgiving visit with Caitlin--three long months of waiting to see her since starting Yale University this fall. Had to send her back, but she will return in 13 days for Christmas break, so I think I'll survive.
I began some whimsical art pieces inspired by the holidays--my happiest moments are when I'm playing with line and color, for no other reason than to just enjoy the journey. I guess that's all that really matters. :)

5 x 5 inch stretched canvas
I actually spent the morning working on two new holiday-themed ACEO illustrations to list on Ebay later tonight, but I had one more abstract to upload that went with the other small works musical series that I was concentrating on weeks ago. Sometimes I forget which photos I've actually posted already. :)
With the holidays approaching, there is much to do with shopping and getting meals planned. And of course my girl is coming home from Yale, so I'm excited to be getting ready for her visit. It's been 3 months--way too long to be apart, but I'm happy that she is enjoying college life and doing well in her first semester courses. I know she will be looking for some "Mommy" home-cooked meals, so I may not have much time for art during the Thanksgiving week. I will gladly make every meal she requests. :)
The weather has been divine in Florida lately. It's always nice to sit outside on the porch this time of year and have a glass of wine with Jeff while watching the birds visit the feeder... or enjoy quiet walks around the neighborhood after dinner. Certainly these moments are to be treasured--I'm thankful for all this goodness!
