In Starbucks

I was waiting in Starbucks for my daughter while she was working her volunteer hours, and I had a few moments to use my gouache and ink while sipping a Gingerbread Latte. Yum! Luckily, I had pulled out a magazine photo and shoved it in the back of my Moleskine a long time ago, so I found it and decided to use it as my reference photo.

I made a gouache travel palette and just used my Niji brush to wet them while I worked over a Uniball pen sketch... adding some colored pencil too. A fun way to spend a half hour. (three different varieties of peony flowers)

I created these "red, black, and white" trading cards in response to our group's challenge theme for this month. It was a fun experiment to try and stay within the color restrictions. Gouache and colored pencils on mat board (2.5 x 3.5 inches).
