A new grid design using watercolors and pen and ink... oh, and I dug out my rubber stamp letters. I feel good about using something that has been stashed in the back of my art supply closet for over a year now. :) Posted by Hello

I realized that even when I do normal journaling, I use a grid-like layout. I never noticed that before. I guess, I'm a geometric type visualizer. This is a watercolor and wax resist page. I had decorated it before doing the actual journal writing. Posted by Hello

These are some December sketches that I did during my day to day activities. They are approximately 2 inch square blocks. I used acrylic paint as a background after I finished working out each block. This size square felt small, even though I enjoy doing miniature work. I'd like to try doing more of these in the coming New Year--maybe try for at least one grid page each week. Posted by Hello

This is my first grid like journal entry done in November. I just created different sized squares and sketched images as I came across them. I think I like the different sized squares better than the uniform one I just finished. Posted by Hello

Website traffic overload

I just received an email from Earthlink that my free website has been receiving more than the allowed traffic flow. BLAH! I guess I will need to re-think my web hosting and find something with more bandwith. For now, I will use Blogger to post my current gluecards and art journal pages until I can find an alternative solution.

Increased traffic on my site is of course, good news. I'm happy that many people have come to visit--it's just not something I wanted to change during the first month of the new year. This could be a good challenge for me to learn even more about web design, so I will think of it as a new door opening up for personal growth. There, I feel better now. Ha ha!

Another miniature oil pastel depicting purple-blue lupines. Posted by Hello

My first attempt at oil pastels for a project on Wetcanvas. This was just a tiny little 2.5 x 3 inch canvas. It was a challenge to work so small with such fat oil crayons, but I loved the texture and feel of the pastels. Now I'm hooked on the medium. My darling husband bought me a lovely pastel book for Christmas, so I'm ready to experiment. Posted by Hello
